Almetia Prince Almetia Prince, 92, of Hominy, passed away on July 23, 2015 at the Pawhuska Nursing Home. Almetia was born in Burneyville, Oklahoma to Shelby Moore and Minnie (Wilson) Tapp on December 17, 1922. She graduated from Courtney High School in Courtney, Oklahoma. She married Dennis Prince on April 10, 1944, they made their home in Hominy since 1954. She worked as a book keeper for the Oklahoma Auction Yard, L & J Welding, and Perrin Drilling Company. She enjoyed bowling and quilting, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hominy. Almetia is survived by: Three sons, Tommy Lee Prince of Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Macky Lynn Prince of Cherokee, Oklahoma, and Denny Prince of Lexington, Oklahoma. As well as 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Almetia was preceded in death by: Her parents, her husband Dennis who passed away on February 1, 2011, and son John Bone, one brother, and one sister, three grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Hominy, with Mark Formby of the First Baptist Church, officiating, Pastor Wayne Brown reading the eulogy. Musical selections by Daylon Caruthers singing "Go Rest High on that Mountain", and Sonie Brown singing "I'll Fly Away." Pallbearers will be Almetia's Grandsons and Great Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Due and Greg Taylor. Burial will follow at A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home in Hominy, Oklahoma.
