Amia Ellen Pope, 91 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on September 3, 2019 at St. Francis in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Pope was born on May 14, 1928 in Oklahoma to Albert and Vivian (Dooling) Shook.
Amia held many jobs including, sewing for Munsing Wear, worked in several cafes as a waitress. In her younger days she loved to ride her horses, even performing in the several rodeos and the Cavalcade. Amia was known for being a tough but caring lady. She will be missed by many.
Amia is survived by: daughter, Vivian Blue; grandchildren, Crystal; Jackie and husband Clifford Hayes; Jennifer; Johnny Joe; Josh; Jessica; son-in-laws, Eddie Waller and Carl Blue; great grandchildren, Cammi and T.J. Long, Cliffy Hayes; Tommy Hayes; Sadie Schenk; Lewis Blue; Brook; Jason.
Amia is preceded in death by: husband, Lewis F. Pope; daughter, Shirley Waller; sisters, Joy Dean; Lena Mae; brothers, Troy; Lloyd; and Bud.
Visitation was from 9:00am-6:00pm, Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Hominy, Oklahoma. Funeral Service was at 10:00am, Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wayne Brown officiating. Pallbearers was: Clifford Hayes, Tommy Hayes, Cliffy Hayes, T.J. Long, Michael Shook, and Chris Shook. Burial followed services at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery located in Hominy, Oklahoma.
