Barbara Jean Herd Obituary Barbara Jean Herd, 70 years, of Wynona passed away on September 24, 2014 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Barbara was born in Berkeley, Alameda County, California to Frank James and Eddie Juanita (Howell) Stanton on March 09, 1944. She was raised in Wynona and graduated from Wynona High School. She married David Ray Herd on March 23, 1963 and they made their home there. Barbara worked as a secretary in a hospital and also Pawhuska High School. She served on the Election Board and also on the Wynona Alumni Board. She loved to go antiquing. Barbara was devoted to Christ and to her husband, children and grandchildren. Barbara is survived by: her husband, David Herd of Wynona, OK, her son, Frank David Herd and wife Heather of Branson, MO; her daughter, Donna Gertson and husband, Todd, of Branson, MO; 7 grandchildren: Jesse Herd, Jacob Herd, Frank Herd, Megan Gertson, Makenna Johnson, Kyndall Johnson, Siri Menighan and her sister, Beulah Moutray. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Beverly Hough. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Antioch Christian Fellowship Church in Wynona, OK with Pastor Wayne Brown officiating. Pallbearers were Frank David Herd, Todd Gertson, Jimmy Howell, Larry Howell, Brian Hough and Jesse Travis Hough. The musical selections were "In the Garden" and "Old Rugged Cross", sung by Sonie Brown. Burial will follow at A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy. Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home in Hominy, Oklahoma. Online memorials may be left at powellfuneralservice.com
