Billy Brooks Walls was born on March 9, 1932 in Ralston, Oklahoma to Earl Lee Walls and Lela May (Mitchell) Walls. He passed from this life in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 31, 2021 at the age of 88. Bill grew up in Ralston, OK where he graduated in 1950. After graduation he worked for Walls Motor Company in Ralston and attended Oklahoma A&M (Oklahoma State University), where he graduated with an Associates Degree in Business. On August 18, 1952, he married Joyce Martin. They made their home in Ralston.
On December 7, 1955, Bill was drafted into the U.S. Navy and was released from active duty on August 30, 1957. He completed his military Naval Reserve obligation on December 6, 1961 and was honorably discharged.
In 1964 Bill purchased a car dealership from Cal Newport and moved to Hominy to start Bill Walls Chevrolet, Oldsmobile & Buick. He operated the dealership for 30 years. After retiring in 1994, he and Joyce enjoyed traveling the U.S. in their motorhome and spending time cheering on their grandchildren. They rarely missed a single sporting event. In addition, Bill also served for 28 years on the Board of Directors at the State Bank of Wynnewood.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Major General, Bob Walls, USAF Ret., his sister-in-law, JoAnn Walls, and his nephew, Brian Walls.
Survivors include his WIFE: Joyce, SON: Martin Walls and wife, Lynda, DAUGHTER: Shawna Edwards and husband, Doyle, 5 GRANDCHILDREN: Gerrad Walls and wife, Amber, Gayla Crenshaw and husband, Dale, Connor Edwards, Cailey Edwards, and Casey Edwards, 4 GREAT GRANDDAUGHTERS: Kynlee Crenshaw, Adyson Crenshaw, Brooke Walls, and Avery Crenshaw, 1 STEP GREAT GRANDSON: Remington Crenshaw and wife Megan, 1 GREAT, GREAT GRANDSON: Drew Hollowell (due May, 2021), NIECES: Lela Pettit and Bobbie Mattlin.
Burial will be at 11:00AM, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Riverside Cemetery in Ralston, Oklahoma.
