Brent Andrews Maker, age 44 of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the family residence in Hominy, Oklahoma. He was born June 3, 1970 to Lloyd George and Virginia Mae (Harding) Maker in Cleveland, OK. He was a graduate of the Hominy High School class of 1988. Brent was an all-state football player for Hominy High School and was a champion weight lifter. Brent attended Haskell in Lawrence Kansas, Tulsa Welding School and Spartan School of Aeronautics. He worked on the Enbridge Pipeline. Brent served on many Hominy District In-Lon-Ska committees and had the position as Tail Dancer. He was also a Champion Straight Dancer. Brent was a member of the Tribal Dance Team that won 1st place at the American Indian Expo at Anadarko in Oklahoma. Brent was Osage, Deer Clan, his Osage name is Tah-Hah-Gah-He. He was a member of the Native American Church. Brent is survived by two brothers: John Maker and Larry Maker both of Hominy; a sister Ann Maker Freeman of Hominy; nieces: Arlandra, Christina, Whitney, Valerie, Eugenia, Tina and Elizabeth, great nieces: Christen, Jayden, Makenzie, Mia, great nephews Jeremey, Jestin, Joseph, Jerrett, Maddox and great great nephew Jacob. He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Virginia, two brothers: Pat Maker and Arlan Maker and nieces Rachel and Elizabeth Mae. Service will be held Monday, July 7, 2014 with the Indian service starting at 8:00 a.m at the Hominy Indian Village Chapel with Dr. Steven Pratt officiating and the funeral service will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Friends Church in Hominy with Pastor David Nagle officiating. Interment in A.J. Powell Cemetery was under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma. Casket bearers for the service were Michael Kidder, Gregory Kidder, Scott Lohah, Dakota Trumbly, Trey Barnes, Chris Holding, Jeffrey Kidder, Nate West, John Williams, Jr. and Harry "Noonie" Red Eagle Jr. Honorary casket bearers were James Maker, Tony Maker, Tony Bone and Sonny Trumbly. Head cook is Regina Perrier, cooks are Kelly Dyer, Linda LaZelle, Steph Dobbins, Heather Little, Fire man is Rusty Dyer, Cedar Men are Sam Mitts, Everett Waller, Jeremey Russell and Timmy Goodfox.
