Celeste Gladys Roubedeaux was born on August 1, 1921 in Red Rock, Oklahoma to Frank Grant and Fannie Moore Grant. She passed from this life on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at her home in Red Rock, Oklahoma, having reached the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 27 days. She married Joseph Richard Roubedeaux on March 18, 1946 in Winfield, Kansas and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2000. They lived in Ponca City for ten years and then moved to California for twenty-seven years before moving back to Red Rock. She was affiliated with the Otoe Baptist Church, First Born Native American Church, and the Otoe War Mothers Chapter 14. Celeste and Richard were two of the founding members of the Southern California Indian Center, and Celeste and her family was part of the First Native American Indian Performers at Disneyland and Knotts Berry 2 Daughters:Nancy Roubedeaux , Lake Elsinore, California Lynn Etta Vasquez, Red Rock, Oklahoma 5 Sons:Richard Roubedeaux, Pawnee, Oklahoma Frank Roubedeaux, Red Rock, Oklahoma Dennis Grant, Pawnee, Oklahoma Mike Cornell, Tonkawa, Oklahoma Jade Roubedeaux, Red Rock, Oklahoma 15 Grandchildren 40 Great Grandchildren 3 Great-Great Grandchildren Plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Besides her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Fannie Grant; daughter, Ivan Caroll; son, Jody Ray; two grandsons, Justin Roubedeaux and Joey Roubedeaux; and great grandson, Sebastian Roubedeaux. Services will be held at Noon, Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Otoe-Missouria Cultural Building, Red Rock, Oklahoma with Joe Dent officiating. Interment will be at Cleghorn Cemetery, Red Rock, Oklahoma, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
