CHARLENE (HARRIS) GORDON April 20, 1935--March 23, 2015 Charlene (Harris) Gordon, known by some as Mittie, was born April 20, 1935, to Luther and Luie Harris in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Charlene passed from this life on March 23, 2015 at the Southern Oaks Care Center surrounded by her loving family and the special caregivers who loved her as their own. She grew up as a Frisco railroad worker’s daughter living in Holdenville and Tulsa. She attended school at Webster High School in Tulsa. She also lived in Alaska and California for brief periods before coming home to Oklahoma. Charlene married Charles Gordon on June 1, 1960. The family has been residents of Pawnee since 1968 after being transferred with the Oklahoma National Guard Army from Holdenville. Charlene was employed by Emle Mills and Munsingwear in Pawnee but most importantly loved helping raise her children and grandchildren. She’ll be remembered for a great smile, being feisty, playing pranks, her giving heart and caring ways. Special thanks to Dr. Jim Riemer, Dr. John Williams of Stillwater and Physician’s Choice Hospice. Charlene was preceded in death by husband Charles on June 25, 2011; son, James (Jimmy) Gordon; and daughter, Sharon Gordon Osborne. She was also preceded in death by 7 siblings. She is survived by daughter, Gail Gordon Stanbrough and husband Steve, Pawnee; sons, Shelby Gordon of Eureka, Kansas; and Clifford Gordon and wife Patty, Pawnee; and a brother, Ronnie Harris of Sand Springs. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Angie Hess, Joey Williams, Wesley Williams, Misty Cook, Amber Gordon, Summer Gordon, Luke Gordon, Alaina Stanbrough, Crystal Burton and Christopher Gordon; 18 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. A memorial service to honor Charlene’s life will take place on Friday, March 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., First Baptist Church of Pawnee. Arrangements made under the direction of Poteet Funeral home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
