Charles Franklin Donaldson was born November 27, 1924 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He was the son of James and Sally (Stewart) Donaldson. Charles was raised and attended school in Pawnee. At the age of twenty, Charles moved to Arkansas where he accepted a position working in a chicken factory. He later returned to Oklahoma and was employed in sawmills in Fairfax and Pawnee, Oklahoma. For nearly fifty years, Charles was known throughout the area as a readily available source for firewood. He working cutting wood for numerous companies and individuals including: Pawnee Bill Ranch and the State of Oklahoma. Additionally, Charles cut and sold wood for himself and to people in and around Pawnee. Charles was married to Phyllis Allen on October 18, 1968 at the Pawnee County Courthouse. The couple had two sons, Timothy and Danny. Charles loved to fish, hunt and his animals; especially horses and dogs. His love for his family, wife, sons, and granddaughter; was clearly evident in his life. Charles is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Phyllis of the home; two sons, Timothy and his wife, Chrystal of Cushing, Oklahoma and Danny Donaldson of Cushing, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Jessica Ann Rose Donadlson; and other friends and relatives that mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmy and Dave Donaldson; and two sisters, Beatrice McKinney and Ruth Hall. Charles passed from this life on Monday, January 5, 2015 in Pawnee, Oklahoma at the age of ninety years, one month and eight days. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Warren officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
