Claudia Lynn Lovelace

Claudia Lynn Lovelace, 72, passed from this life on January 17, 2023, in her home just outside of Cleveland, OK

Claudia Lovelace was born April 19, 1950, in Hemet, California to Charles and Irene Burton. Claudia grew up in a sibling group of four; two brothers David and Philip, one sister Michelle. She grew up in California, moving to Oklahoma in her twenties.

Claudia served in the US Army for two years. Claudia went to school and got her LPN license then was a nurse for many years. She received her Master of Divinity at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She went on to become a Full Elder in the United Methodist Church and pastored several churches including six years at the Methodist Church in Hominy, OK.

Claudia was all about travel; “making memories” was her motto. In her travels along with her mom they went to Europe, visiting all the sites, Rome, Milan, Athens and the Caspian Sea. They went on a few cruises together. Once Claudia and her mom went to Boston for a church conference, but they didn’t attend the conference; instead, they went to Martha’s Vineyard, NYC, Maine and Niagara Falls. They went to Churchill Downs where they run the Kentucky derby. Then on to New Orleans where they visited the site where “Steel Magnolia” was made. The year Claudia turned sixty, her and her two brothers along with other family members hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon the day after Christmas in the middle of winter storms, but she made it. She continued to travel with the church on Mission Trips. She went to Vietnam and Thailand, Peru, and Israel.

The last two years Claudia was living her dream. She always wanted “her Little Farm” with all the animals. She loved being in the country taking care of the horses, the goats and the cow.

Claudia is survived by her mother, Irene Burton; her brother David (Valerie) Burton and sister Michelle (Terry) Kruschke; one niece Stephanie, three nephews Shaun, Nathan, Scott (Megan); one great niece Ellie and one great nephew Grayson. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Burton and brother Philip Burton
