Dawn Marie Johnson

Dawn Marie Johnson was born on December 23, 1943 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Marlin Isaac “Flea” Johnson and Mildred Howell Johnson. She passed from this life on Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma having reached the age of 70 Years, 4 months, and 19 days. She loved her Sunday gospel music, bingo, grandchildren, great grandchildren, laughing and joking. She was an avid fan of the OKC Thunder, especially Kevin “KD” Durant. She made the best sausage gravy, and never ended a visit with goodbye, but with I Love You. Dawn is survived by her children, Deanna Dick, Pawnee, Danielle Wheatley, Pawnee, Michael Wheatley, Tulsa, Leroy Wheatley, Sand Springs; two brothers, Lawrence Johnson, Grove, Oklahoma, and Wilbur “Philly” Johnson, Pawnee; and sister, Laree Alexander, Glenpool, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Brooke Wheatley, Forrest Wheatley, Brandi Wheatley, Hannah Ray, Braden Miles, Ronnie Hoff, Toni Trippet, Mason Wheatley, and Savannah Wheatley; eight great grandchildren, Jaden LeadingFox, Tysen Wheatley, Patrick LeadingFox III, Emma Wheatley, Bugsy LeadingFox, Ferradae Wheatley, Elias Wheatley, and Micha Wheatley, plus numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Marlin and Mildred Johnson, and brother, Larry Johnson. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Pawnee Nation Roam Chief Event Center, Pawnee, Oklahoma, with Rev. Warren Pratt Jr. officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
