Frank Young

Robert Franklin “Frank” Young, 65, of Pawnee, OK passed away, at 7:45 pm on Friday November 1, 2013, at his home in Pawnee, OK. Frank was born in Hutchinson, KS to Robert “Bob” Young and Betty Mears Young on December 22, 1947. On Memorial Day weekend in 2003, Frank met his soul mate, Jackie, at Lake Tenkiller, surrounded by friends and loved ones. Frank and Jackie were married on February 7th, 2004 and this love affair and sharing of life with family and friends continued until Frank’s last breath. For his entire life, Frank’s passion was his family and friends; he always had time for a conversation and a beer. Where ever he was, Colorado, Mexico, on the lake, in the pool, or any place he found himself, he was welcome and there was laughter and smiles. He loved the beach, the golf course, boating, and his Pawnee community. Frank was a member of the First Christian Church, where he served as Deacon and then Elder. Frank’s charm made him a natural salesman and he made a lifetime of friends through his profession. He spent his life living in Kansas and Oklahoma, but could call any place home. As one of his friends described him, “Frank had a special talent of making you feel like you were his best friend. When you walked away from Frank, you always felt a little better about yourself.” Preceded in death by sister Gloria “Lou” Abernathy, brother David Young, and father Robert “Bob” Young. Survived by wife, Jacklyn “Jackie” Rogers Young; mothers, Betty Mears Young and Donna Young; children, Nick, Chris and husband Todd, Jim and wife Michelle, Jason, David and wife Samantha, and Leslie; grandchildren, Andeara, Charlie, Harris, Carson, and Zeke, also, countless family and friends who loved him and will miss him.
