Frederick Hugo Burrow was born on December 27, 1949, in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Alvin Free and Elizabeth Free Hamilton. He and his brother, John, were later adopted by Leonard Burrow and June Burrow. He grew up in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. He graduated from Barnsdall High School.
Fred had three sons and two daughters: Roger, Frederick, Lawrence, Nicky and Francis. Fred lived in California for twenty years where he worked as a security guard at the Barona Casino and returned to Pawhuska about a year ago.
Fred loved to Gourd Dance, he was a member of the Golden State Gourd Society. Fred was an avid OU fan. He also loved the Osage Culture. Fred was a member of the Osage Nation, he also was a descendant of the Winnebago, Pueblo and Omaha Nations. Fred enjoyed traveling the Pow Wow Circuit. He was a proud member of the Deer Clan. Fred loved God
Frederick passed on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Hillcrest heart hospital in Tulsa, surrounded by family.
Fred is survived by his children Francis Burrow, Nicky Burrow, Roger Burrow and Lawrence Burrow; many grandchildren including Victoria Burnett; three great grandchildren; a sister Esther Lowden; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Frederick (Rick) Burrow; his parents Leonard and June Burrow also Alvin and Elizabeth Free; four brothers an infant boy Hamilton, Ames Noah Hamilton Brown, John Burrow and Robert Reuben Brown; five sisters Marie Whiteman, Olivia Free, Sammie Lou Braze, Betty Free, and Mary Francis Kidder
Services for Frederick Hugo Burrow will be Friday, December 27, 2024, at 9:00 AM at the Waken Iron Chapel in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Burial will be at A J Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma. Arrangements by Powell Funeral Home in Hominy, Oklahoma
