George W Moore Jr.

George W. Moore Jr. was born on October 21, 1932 to George Wayne Moore Sr. and Elva Elvira Focht Moore, at home in Payne County, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on Monday, September 3, 2012 at his home in Pawnee County, Oklahoma, having reached the age of 79 years, 11 months, and 13 days. He married Carroll Jean Matlock on November 1, 1952 at the Pawnee County Courthouse. He lived five miles southwest of Pawnee from 1950 until 1959 when he moved south of Glencoe and owned and operated Moore Dairy and Moore Trucking from 1959 until 1997. He moved back to the original home at Pawnee where he farmed and ranched up until his death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Glencoe, and loved people, and was always joking and smiling. He was the solid rock of the family, and everyone called Grand Dad for advice and information on important decisions. Most people knew and referred to George as Grand Dad as that is what all his kids and grandkids called him. He loved family get togethers and holidays, and Christmas was his favorite family tradition and the family spent Christmas Eve with Grand Dad and Grandma Carroll’s for the last thirty-five years. He was a kid at heart and loved his family so much. He was the most generous and loving man, one which will be missed by so many loved ones. He instilled every one of us with kindness, love, respect, honor, and most of all the love of family. George is survived by: Wife:Carroll Moore, Pawnee, Oklahoma Beloved pet dog “Kay” of the home Son:Scott Moore & his family, Sarah & Ashley, Glencoe, Oklahoma Daughter:Pam McDaniel & her husband, Rick, Stroud, Oklahoma 3 Grandchildren:Sandra Waters, Mandy & Eric French, &G. K. & Stephanie Rossander, all of Glencoe, Oklahoma 5 Great Grandchildren:Mica & Tucker French, Chance Waters & Kent & Aiden (Little Red) All of Glencoe, Oklahoma Sister:Doris Marglino, Linden, California Plus many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and good friends, Bud and Carol Carpenter. George was preceded in death by his parents, George & Elva Moore; three sisters, Gladys Larman, Altha “Tommie” Flowers, and Maxine Treat; and his son, Michael Wayne Moore. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the Glencoe Cemetery, Glencoe, Oklahoma.
