Heidi Cupp

Adelheid Oryana Cupp, known to most as Heidi, passed away peacefully at her home in Hominy, Oklahoma, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on August 6, 1949, in Cham, Germany, she was the beloved daughter of Hans Ervin Schmidt and Klara Heilig. Heidi was raised and educated in Germany.

While James Franklin Cupp was serving in the military, he met and eventually married Heidi on October 4, 1968, in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The couple made their home in Hominy, Oklahoma, where they lived for 47 wonderful years. Together, they were blessed with two children. James passed away on March 1, 2010, after 42 years of marriage.

Heidi was employed as a housekeeper and a florist with Jean's Flower Shop, but primarily a homemaker in her later years. Her church family was always an important part of her life. She enjoyed trips to Branson with her church family, camping trips with her family in earlier days, and preparing holiday meals. Heidi loved gardening and all types of music, especially old gospel and anything by Carrie Underwood. However, her family was always her top priority, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog Samantha.

Heidi is survived by her children, Michael and Danyal Cupp, and her sister-in-law, Gladys Cunningham; her brothers, George Heilig, Mario Heilig, Renaldo Heilig, Taylor (Mickey) Heilig, Jacob Heilig, and Jackson Heilig; her sister, Mausy Heilig; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jaden Cupp, Brandon Weaver, Gabby McVey, Mercedes Stedman, and Corey McVey; and her great-grandchildren, Boe Weaver, Luke Weaver, Harrison Campos, Nathan Stedman, and Jude Stedman. Besides her husband, Heidi was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Hansi Heilig and her brother-in-law, Clarence (Jocko) Clapper.

Heidi will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Hominy Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Carl Brown officiating. Heidi’s request was to have cremation and be interred next to her husband James.

Powell Funeral Home of Hominy has been entrusted with the arrangements and services. www.powellfuneralservice.com
