Jack Dean Palmer, longtime resident of Pawnee, Passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Jack (or Red as many knew him) was born on September 16, 1920 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Al Palmer and Ollie Clifton Palmer. He married Viola Stolhand Ware on May 29, 1944, and she preceded him in death. On November 22, 1945 he was honorably discharged from the Army. He left the Army with the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon, WWII Victory Ribbon, One Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He served eighteen months in France, Germany, Belgium, and Holland. Jack wore many hats during his life as a Farmer, Palmer Trucking Company, and Palmer Custom Combining, just to name a few. Jack bought and sold anything that had wheels. Jack is survived by: Brother:Paul Palmer & his wife, Rachel, Chimacum, Washington Sister:Maxine Palmer, Washington 3 Sons:Bill Palmer & his wife, Pam, Ponca City, Oklahoma Jim Ware & his wife, Virginia, Pawnee, Oklahoma Herman Ware & his wife, Judy, Pawnee, Oklahoma Grandchildren:Billy Palmer & his wife, Sara, Ponca City, Oklahoma Cindy Palmer Burgesss & her husband, Tony, Ponca City, Oklahoma Teresa Ware Rhynard & her husband, Rick, Ponca City, Oklahoma Debra Ware Turner & her husband Terry, Pawnee, Oklahoma Jack Ware & his wife, Pam, Pawnee, Oklahoma Jimmy Ware & his wife, Beverly, Maramec, Oklahoma Carma Ware Lujan & her husband, John, Kansas City, Missouri 18 Great Grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren Plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Besides his wife, Viola, he was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Ollie Palmer; brothers, Earl Palmer, Botley Palmer, Hubert Palmer; son, John Palmer; and his grandson, Larry Ware. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Poteet Funeral Chapel, Pawnee, Oklahoma.Memorials may be made in memory of Jack to Albright Methodist Church, 128 S Palm, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601
