James Kenneth Bower was born on October 17, 1931 in Glencoe Oklahoma to Sherman Bower and Naomi Dove Bower. He passed from this life on Friday, August 2, 2013 in Stillwater Oklahoma having reached the age of 81 years. He graduated from Glencoe Public Schools with the Class of 1950. He served in the United States Army from 1951 until his Honorable Discharge in 1954. He was stationed at Fort Sill and then transferred to Fort Richardson in Alaska. He married Delores Tucker on November 17, 1956 in Stillwater Oklahoma, and she preceded him in death on January 19, 2008. After their marriage they spent two years in Wichita Kansas working for Boeing Aircraft, and then were transferred to Seattle Washington for six years before returning to Wichita Kansas until his retirement in 1987. Upon retirement they moved back to Glencoe. He was a member of the Glencoe United Methodist Church. James is survived by: Son-in-law:Scott Ripley, Stillwater, Oklahoma 2 Granddaughters:Katie Crum, Pretty Prairie, Kansas Ashley Sargent, Wichita, Kansas Plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Besides his wife, Delores, he was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Naomi Bower; sister, Leola Lea Moffett; daughter, Robin Ripley; and son, Bryant Bower. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Glencoe United Methodist Church, Glencoe, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Glencoe Cemetery, Glencoe, Oklahoma.
