Janice Hicks Kempton

Janice Kay Hicks Kempton, left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa Oklahoma at the age of 66. Known for her perseverance and generosity, Janice was born on July 22, 1948 in Nowata Oklahoma to Mata Bue Hicks and Howard Hicks. She graduated from Delaware High School with the Class of 1966, and in 1980 she met and married Philip David Kempton. They moved to Pawnee in 1983 where they welcomed their two daughters, Kelly and Amber. Janice is survived by her husband, Philip; her two daughters, Kelly Walker and Amber Kempton; and two grandchildren, Sierra Walker and Gage Kempton, all of Pawnee; her brother, Frank Hicks of Nowata Oklahoma; plus numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mata and Howard Hicks, and her brother, Marshal Hicks. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Masham First Baptist Church, Masham, Oklahoma with Rev. Jim Wininger officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m., at Nowata Memorial Cemetery, Nowata, Oklahoma
