Jerry "Arkie" Bruce

Jerry Louis “Arkie” Bruce was born March 26, 1952 in Pawnee Oklahoma to Charles Preston Bruce and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Smith Bruce. He passed from this life on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at his home in Pawnee, Oklahoma, having reached the age of 61 years, 9 months, and 29 days. He was a lifetime resident of Pawnee and has worked for the City of Pawnee for over thirty years. He married Jackie Connor on August 19, 2000 at the Pawnee Bill Ranch, and they were affiliated with the Family Worship Center and Skedee Assembly of God Church. He loved his family, friends, hunting, fishing, dogs, coon hunting, river, and camping. He was excited about his retirement which would have started in November of this year. Arkie is survived by: Wife:Jackie Bruce, Pawnee, Oklahoma 6 Children Brother:Charlie Bruce, Pawnee, Oklahoma Sister:Betty Klepper, Arkansas Plus numerous grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends. Arkie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Bruce. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma, with Rev. Lance Howell officiating, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
