Jesse Russell Bud Wallace Obituary Jesse Russell Bud Wallace 64, of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away May 5, 2009 at his home in Hominy. He was born May 11, 1944 in Hominy to Russell and Polly (Thirsty) Wallace. Bud attended Hominy Public Schools and graduated in May 1962. His first job was in New Mexico working in the oilfield and then he worked with a landscaping company with his uncle Jack Davis. In 1965 he went to work for Kenneth Runyon Oilfield Services as a roustabout. In June of 1966 Bud went to work for the Hominy Fire Department and was Fire Chief for five years before retiring in September 1994. Bud married Rhonda Carpenter in August 1965 and in this union they had two children, a son- Bradley Jay and a daughter- Cherokee Ann. Bud was a life long resident of Hominy. He was a member of Hominy, First Baptist Church and the State of Oklahoma Firefighters Association. His hobbies were playing golf, shooting pool, and visiting with old friends; as a young boy he loved to go fishing with the neighborhood boys. He was a huge Hominy Buck and OU Sooner fan!! He had a special talent as a master craftsman and was very artistic. In the summertime he used to always be at the lake and was always fixing up his lake lot so he could hang out, fish and enjoy his friends who stopped by. Bud is survived by his son- Bradley Jay Wallace and wife Sarah of Houston, Texas and a daughter- Cherokee Ann Fields of Hominy; a brother- Ralph Gene Wallace and wife Judy of Skiatook, Oklahoma and a sister- Pauline Red Eagle and husband Harry of Hominy; and the mother of his children, Rhonda Wallace of Hominy. Six Grandchildren- Braden, Mannon and Summer Wallace; Connor Daffron, Geoffrey and George Fields; one uncle, one aunt and several nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends, and special friend, Joyce Fields. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Services for Bud were Friday, May 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Wayne Brown officiating. Taped music selections were Uncloudy Day , When I Get Where Im Going , Address Change Notification and soloist David Gritts Amazing Grace. Casket Bearers were Paul Red Eagle, Noonie Red Eagle, Jesse Marquardt, Ronnie Miller, Don Alexander and Clark Montgomery. Honorary Casket Bearers were Mitchell Wallace, Stormy Horton, Orville Wills, Raymond Alexander and Wayne Wilcox. Interment was in the A.J. Powell Cemetery, Hominy. Arrangements were made with Powell Funeral Home, Hominy.
