Jessie Fernell 'Sonny' Fast

Jesse Fernell "Sonny" Fast, 86 years, passed away at his residence in Prue, Oklahoma on Friday, March 23, 2018.

Sonny was born in Wildhorse, Osage County, Oklahoma on January 01, 1932 to Allen Welch and Glenna (Bell) Fast, though he was raised and adopted by his grandparents, J.C. and Balzora Fast. He resided and was educated in the Wildhorse and Prue, Oklahoma area. Sonny married Kathleen Yarbrough on November 5, 1950 and they made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, moving back to Prue in 1962.Sonny served in the US Air Force and was medically discharged. He loved fishing and gardening. His favorite saying was: "Just a rockin and waiting on the Rapture."

Sonny is survived by: his son, Thomas Fast of Prue, OK; his daughter, Diana Patterson of Prue, OK; his sister, Jackie Jordan, also of Prue, OK; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Sonny is preceded in death by: his wife, Kathleen; his son, Skip; his parents, and his siblings.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Prairie View Cemetery in Prue, Oklahoma, with the Pastor Garry McDevitt officiating. Pallbearers are: Jake Patterson, Garett Holcomb, Jasper Patterson, Zach Fast, Larry Holcomb and Billy Currie. Burial will follow the services.
