Joann Thompson Atkins

JoAnn Thompson-Atkins was born on September 19, 1947 in Pawnee Oklahoma to Morris L. Thompson and Genetta B. Wilson-Thompson. She passed from this life on Monday, July 28, 2014 in Broken Arrow Oklahoma having reached the age of 66 years, 10 months, and 9 days. She attended Pawnee Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1965. On January 7, 1966 she married Ronnie E. Atkins, and they made their home in Tulsa. JoAnn is survived by daughter, Kathy J. Atkins-Patton and her husband, Gene, Greensboro, North Carolina; son, Ronald E. Atkins and his wife, Tonya, Tulsa; son, Michael B. Thompson, Tulsa; grandchildren, Ramon D. Miller II, Tyron D. Miller Sr., Paige N. Patton, Taylor C. Patton; great grandchildren, Ramon D. Miller III, Mortice Montgomery, Tyron D. Millier, Jr., Laila T. Miller and Andre King, a close friend like a son. Brothers, Robert E. Thompson and Arthur “Peno” Thompson, both of Pawnee; and sisters, Debbie D. Crawford, Hominy, and Brenda K. Martin, Cushing. JoAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Genetta B. Thompson; her father, Morris L. Thompson; and two brothers, William L. Thompson and Morris L. Thompson. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Eshelman Memorial Chapel, Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma
