Joe Parker Higgins

Joe Parker Higgins was born on November 11, 1927 in Osage County Oklahoma to Joe Parker Higgins and Lowe Victoria Rutherford Higgins. He passed from this life on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at his home in Blackburn Oklahoma having reached the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 8 days. He married Deloris Harris on January 29, 1950 in Bartlesville Oklahoma and they lived on a farm in Osage County before moving to Blackburn in 1959. He was a member of the Blackburn United Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening. He was a mechanic. Joe is survived by: Wife:Deloris Higgins, Blackburn, Oklahoma 3 Children:Peggy Witter & her husband, Chuck, San Antonio, Texas Debbie Waters & her husband, Jackie, Pawnee, Oklahoma Joey Higgins & his wife, Debbie, Skedee, Oklahoma 11 Grandchildren 24 Great Grandchildren Sister:Mary Perrin, Hominy, Oklahoma Brother:Dale Higgins, Ralston, Oklahoma Plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lowe Higgins, and sister, Stella Patterson. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Blackburn United Methodist Church, Blackburn, Oklahoma with Rev. Jeff Kuhn officiating. Interment will be at Blackburn Cemetery, Blackburn, Oklahoma, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Green Country, Inc., 1120 S.
