John Lee Chambers

John Lee Chambers was born on February 21, 1937 in Ralston, Oklahoma to Agie Burl Chambers and Mary McKinney Chambers. He passed from this life on Saturday, April 12, 2014 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, having reached the age of 77 years, 1 month, and 22 days. He married Iretta Boyd and she preceded him in death on March 17, 2011. He loved playing the guitar and singing gospel.

John is survived by his brother, William Chambers and his wife, JoRuth, Deer Park, Texas; sister, Nadine Crabtree, Fairfax, Oklahoma; sister, Wanda Stiles and her husband, Jerry, Richardson, Texas; brother, Ray Chambers and his wife, Mary, Crosby, Texas; and his brother Bob Chambers, and his wife, Carole, Humble, Texas. Plus a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; his brother, J. D. Gantt; and brother-in-law, Bill Crabtree.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Riverside Cemetery, Ralston, Oklahoma with Rev. George Weston officiating, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
