John "Jack" Leon Parks Obituary John "Jack" Leon Parks, age 83, of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away October 31, 2011 in Perry, Oklahoma. Jack was born August 29, 1928 at Benkelman, Nebraska to John Clayton and Laura Mahaley (Crossen) Parks. Jack and Joyce (Whittenburg) were married August 26, 1950 they had been married 61 years. Jack graduated from College High School in Bartlesville. Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 - 1948 during WWII in the Engineering Division. They moved to Hominy in 1956. He was owner of the Double J Productions Oil Company. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, former President of the Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Oklahoma Independent Oilman Association. Jack is survived by his wife Joyce of the home; 4 children: Dynda Rose Post and husband Robert of Catoosa, Lisa Jo Martin and husband Tom of Sand Springs, Robyn Joyce Venable and husband David of Sapulpa and John Clayton Parks II of Hominy; 9 grandchildren: Bradley Venable, Amy Venable, Brian Venable and wife Ashley; Drew Brown and wife Somer, Danya Kokojan and husband Joe, Lacy Post, Susannah Post, L. J. Parks and Joel Parks; 1 great Granddaughter: Delaney Jordyn Brown; 1 brother: Darrell "Cork" Parks and wife Priscilla, 1 sister: Margie Frisbie and husband Russell and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, daughter-in-law Karen Parks and bro. Buster Parks. Funeral Services were Friday, November 4, 2011 at Hominy, First Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Formby officiating. Music selections were "Faded Love", "Trouble in Mind" was sung by trio Patricia Webster, Gerry Lay and Robert Post, pianist was Rhonda Roush. Congregational hymn was "The Old Rugged Cross". Pallbearers were his grandchildren: Bradley Venable, Amy Venable, Brian Venable, Drew Brown, Danya Kokojan, Lacy Post, Susannah Post, L.J. Parks, Joel Parks and special friend, Pat Prater. Honorary were Ashley Venable, Somer Brown and Joe Kokojan. Interment was in the Dewey Cemetery, Dewey, Oklahoma @ 3:30 p.m. with a Military Service with the American Legion Post 105 performing the honors.
