John Raymond Holt

John Raymond "Johnny" Holt, 73 years, of Wynona, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his home in Wynona.

Johnny was born on November 24, 1943 in Artesia, New Mexico to Everett Ernest and Ruby Doris (Mann) Holt and was the third of eight children. He grew up on the Turkey Track Ranch, 13 miles east of Artesia. He married his wife, Nelda Irene "Cynthia" Nix, of 52 ½ years, in June of 1964. They had 4 children: Becky, Teddy, Jodie and Bobby. Johnny worked in the oil fields for many years; then he ran his own welding rig. In his later years, he drove a truck. He loved reading and taking trips. Johnny lived his life to the max.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his daughter, Becky Holt and her son, Nikki; his son, Teddy Holt; daughter, Jodie Michaud and her husband, Aaron, and their 2 sons: Shane and Trevor; his son Bobby Holt and his son, Dexter; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Jerry Holt; 1 sister, Barbara Cauldwell and many nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers: Ed, Phil, Jackie and Tommy; and 1 sister, Ruby.

The graveside services were held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma with the Pastor David Downing officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the research of kidney cancer.
