Josephine Jake was born on June 25, 1954 in Tulsa Oklahoma to John Jake Jr. and Georgia Kipp Jake. She passed from this life on Friday, April 25, 2014 in Stillwater Oklahoma having reached the age of 59 years, and 10 months. She attended Oklahoma State University and Rogers State University, and was a School Teacher at Highland Park Elementary School in Stillwater, served as Indian Coordinator and attended many Native American Conferences.
Josephine is survived by sisters, Mary K. Jake, Pawnee Oklahoma; Ida Bevenue, Hominy Oklahoma; and Susan Emarthle, Wichita Kansas; niece, Jessica Emarthle, Wichita Kansas; nephew, Martin Emarthle, Wichita Kansas; niece, Judy St. John, Muskogee Oklahoma; niece, Mary St. John Lee, Hominy Oklahoma; niece, Lilli St. John, Muskogee Oklahoma; niece, Miranda St. John, Muskogee Oklahoma; nephew, Joseph St. John, Hominy Oklahoma; nephew, Daniel St. John, Hominy Oklahoma; nephew, Joshua St. John, Hominy Oklahoma; and Alex St. John, Hominy, Oklahoma.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, John Jake Jr. and Georgia Kipp Jake, and her brothers, George Hiram Jake and Darryl Kipp.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Pawnee Nation Roam Chief Event Center, Pawnee, Oklahoma with Alan Moore officiating. Interment will be at North Indian Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
