Karen Vivar Pruitt

Karen V. Pruitt, 72 years, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.

Karen was born on May 15, 1944 in Coleman, Texas to John Daniel and Frances Virginia (Smith) Barnett. She attended school in Coleman and graduated high school there. She lived in Ft. Worth, Texas, Henryetta, Oklahoma and for the last 20 years, Karen has lived in Tulsa.

Karen is survived by: her son, Jerry Lockridge of Hominy, OK; her daughter, Christie Birdwell of Tulsa, OK; 5 grandchildren: Curtis Lockridge and his fiancée, Ashley Victoria Kline of Hominy, OK, Krystal Lockridge of Branson, MO, Larry Birdwell of Tulsa, OK, Chris Littlejohn of Tulsa, OK, Jenna Howell and her husband Mitchell Dugan of Ft. Gibson, OK; 12 great-grandchildren: Jayden Lockridge, Chase Lockridge, Makayla Lamb, Cameron Lamb, Nathaniel Epperson, Delbert Parnell, Izabella Dugan, Nevaeh Cheyenne Briley, Angel Nicole Lynn Briley, Natalie Michelle Taylor, Kendall Cozay Taylor, Jaxon Matthew Floyd Kline; and 1 brother, Jackie Barnett of Deluth, Georgia.

Karen is preceded by: her parents, her husband, Tom Pruitt, her son, Kevin Birdwell, her great-granddaughter, Jasmyn Lockridge and her brother Paul Adams.

The funeral service was at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2017, graveside at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma.
