Mattie “Leoda” Keeton Glasgow was born September 23, 1921, in Carbon Hill, Alabama to Jasper Newton Keeton and Leola Mattie Pair Keeton. Leoda passed from this life on Sunday, January 18, 2015, at the Southern Oaks Care Center, Pawnee, Oklahoma, having reached the age of 93 years. She graduated from Varnum High School with the class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Ray Glasgow on May 12, 1944 in Washington, D.C.. Ray preceded her in death on April 1, 1975. Leoda moved to the Blackburn area from California in 1970. She was affiliated with the Blackburn Methodist Church and a member of United Methodist Women. Leoda was very active in church, she was always a part of every ministry activity, helped everyone she could and always greeted everyone at the church. Leoda is survived by three sons, Steven Wayne Glasgow, Silver Spring, Nevada; John C. (Jack) Glasgow, Tucson, Arizona; Gerald William Glasgow, Antioch, CA; Grandchildren, Krystal (Glasgow) Moore, Colorado Springs, Colorado., John C. Glasgow Jr., Tucson, Arizona, Cheryl (Glasgow) Morgan, Phoenix, Arizona, Melissa “Missy” (Glasgow) Gooding, Tucson, Arizona, Jered and Cameron Glasgow, Lodi, California, Steve Ray Glasgow, Napa, Idaho, Carol Ruth (Glasgow) Tyler, Reno, Nevada; 30 Great Grandchildren, half-sister, Sue Wright, Washburn, Missouri., niece, Rosetta (Lemaster) Hepple, Stillwater, Oklahoma, plus numerous other relatives and many friends. Leoda was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, her parents, and her sister, Neoma. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Blackburn Methodist Church, Blackburn, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Pastor Lindee DeRoin. Interment will be at the Blackburn Cemetery, Blackburn, Oklahoma under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
