Lita J. Daniels, 88 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 at her residence in Hominy, Oklahoma surrounded in love by her family.

Lita was born in Roosevelt, Oklahoma on October 16, 1931 to parents Eugene T. and Ina M. Hetzel. She graduated from Cushing High School in 1949.

Lita was married to Garland Daniels on June 6, 1970. Formerly she was co-owner of Bones Tool Company in Hominy, Oklahoma. Lita was a philanthropist and mentored many friends and family. She was a caring, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Although she was not formally educated in music, she composed many songs, as well as played and sang them. Lita was a member of The First Christian Church in Hominy, Oklahoma. Her hobbies were writing music, fishing, and studying herbal and naturopathic medicine. She tried to help all sick ailing family and friends with these methods.

Lita is survived by: daughter, Sonya and husband Bill Magness of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; granddaughters, L. Michelle Sosbee of Chandler, Oklahoma; Sheryl R. Sosbee of Arcadia, Oklahoma; great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Colvin of Edmond, Oklahoma; twin sister, Rita Walezak of Chesterfield, Missouri; sister, Dorothy Wolff of Cushing, Oklahoma, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lita is preceded in death by: parents, Eugene T. and Ina M. Hetzel; husband, Garland “Bones” Daniels; sisters and brothers, Margret Hetzel; Harry Hetzel;  Durward Hetzel; Nelda Hollingworth; James R. Hetzel; Margery DeWalt; Ina M. Hachman; great-granddaughter, Autumn Nicole Colvin.

Visitation for Lita will be Monday, January 27, 2020 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. Family and friends are welcomed at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Hominy, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 3:00PM at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Roger Sheppard officiating. Pallbearers will be: Norm Wolff, Howard Wolff, Kyle Wolff, Charlie Pitlyk, Matt Tilley, and Ryan Tilley. Honorary Bearers will be: Bill Magness, Terry Hetzel, Bill Hollingsworth, Steve Richison, Frank Acierno and Frank “Bronc” Henry. Musical selections will be “Our God, Ya Ha Veh!” by Lita Daniels, “Father, Forgive Us” by Lita Daniels, “How Long Has it Been Since You Talked with the Lord?” by Jim Reeves, “Go Rest High on that Mountain” by Vince Gill, and “I’ll Fly Away”. Graveside committal will be at 5:00PM at the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma. (505 N. Euchee Valley Rd. Cushing, Oklahoma 74023-Hwy 33 and Country Club Road)
