Lizzie M. Martin Obituary Lizzie M. Martin, 99, long time resident of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away September 1, 2011 at Evergreen Care Center in Owasso, Oklahoma. She was born September 4, 1911 in Owasso, Oklahoma to Luther and Eliza Ann (Blade) Davis. Lizzie married Clinton Goad on September 22, 1928. She also moved to Hominy, Oklahoma that same month. She was married to Clinton until his death in 1948. She later married William (Bill) Martin on June 17, 1949. They resided in their home together in Hominy, until 1970; when Bill passed from this life. Lizzie continued to live in her home until 2010, when she moved into Evergreen Care Center, where she spent the next year or so brightening the lives of everyone she met. Lizzie is survived by 2 sisters: Bertha Lee and husband Jack Allen of Ramona, Oklahoma, and Louise Gilliand of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews. Lizzie was preceded in death by her parents, Luther in 1959 and Eliza Ann Davis in 1969; 2 husbands, along with 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral Services for Lizzie were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2011 at First Assembly of God Church in Hominy with Pastor Clifton Phelps officiating. Lizzie had been a member of First Assembly of God in Hominy since 1942. Musical selections for the service were congregational hymns: "Standing On The Promises" and "I'll Fly Away", vocalist Kevin DeLong: "The Blood That Stained The Old Rugged Cross", vocalist Clifton Phelps: "Serenaded By Angels", accompanist was Beth Phelps. Interment in the A.J. Powell Cemetery in Hominy was at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday- September 6, 2011 under the direction of Powell Funeral Home.
