Lloyd Gaymond White Obituary Lloyd Gaymond White, age 88, of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Lloyd was born to J.W. and Opal (Privett) White March 8, 1922 in Hominy, Oklahoma. Lloyd was a life-long Hominy resident, attending and graduating from Hominy Public Schools in 1940. He lived in the home where he was born and raised. Lloyd and Connie C. (Wineinger) were married February 10, 1944 in Greenville, Texas; they had been married for 66 years. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII from November 1940 to November 1945. He was the Manager of Benson Lumber Company for 46 years before retiring in 1995. Lloyd was very active in the Hominy community during his life- He was a service officer for over 30 years for the American Legion Blackwell-Frazier Post #142; he served on the Selective Service Board during the Vietnam War; Retired Volunteer Fireman for over 30 years; he served on the Hominy City Council, the Rotary Club, Civil Defense Director for several years; he was involved with the Hominy Chamber of Commerce for years; he belonged to the Sportsman Club; Lloyd was the National Weather Service Reporter for this area for many years and worked the time Clock for the HHS Football Games for many years also. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Lloyd is survived by his wife Connie of the home- two sons- Dennis Ray White of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Tod Sterling White of Hominy; three grandchildren- Stanley Robert White Jr., of Houston, Texas, John Wesley White of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Krystal Renee White of Bentonville, Arkansas; one great grandson- Matthew Allen-Tod White Culotta; one sister in law- Una White and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends that will miss him dearly. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, one son- Stanley Robert White, three brothers and one sister. Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Connie Taylor officiating. Music selections are Amazing Grace , Precious Memories , In the Garden and How Great Thou Art . Casket Bearers will be Jim Frazier, Hank Benson, Steve Pitts, H.L. Washmon, Jerry Ballard and Gary Yarbrough. Interment will be in the A.J. Powell Cemetery with Military Honors by the VFW 5th District Rifle Squad. Arrangements were made with the Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma.
