Lois Garner Skidgel

Lois Lorene Skidgel was born on January 8, 1927 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Raymond Cecil Garner and Bertha Gladys Eaton Garner. She passed from this life on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Pawnee Oklahoma having reached the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 21 days. She married Nelson W. Skidgel Jr. on May 18, 1946 in Winfield Kansas, and they made their home on their farm south of Pawnee. She was affiliated with the Christian Church, and was a homemaker. Lois is survived by: Husband, Nelson W. Skidgel, Jr.; two sons, Darrell W. Skidgel and his wife, Janice; Jerry L. Skidgel and his wife, Jan, all of Pawnee. Eight grandchildren, Dwayne and Lori Skidgel, Pawnee, Ginger and Chris Klaassen, Hydro, Lorie and Travis Benes, Taos New Mexico, Brian and Kaileen Skidgel, Pawnee, Kelley and Joe Gappa, Moore Oklahoma, Andy and Alyssa Beck, Enid Oklahoma, Jeff and Lacy Beck, Pawnee, and Kimberly and Nick Kiker, Broichhoven, Germany. Twenty-four great grandchildren; and three brothers, Wayne Garner, Pawnee, Ray Garner, Mannford Oklahoma, and Melvin Garner, Broken Arrow Oklahoma. Plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Bertha Garner, granddaughter, Kaelynn Skidgel; and three brothers, Harold Garner, Lloyd Garner, and Carl Garner. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church, Pawnee Oklahoma with Rev. James Eubanks officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
