Lyndell Monroe

Lyndell Monroe, former Hominy resident, passed from this life on Monday, April 4, 2022 at the Gardens Nursing Center in Sapulpa.  She was 96 years of age.  Lyndell was born in Muleshoe, Texas on May 13, 1925 to Edward and Minnie (Sabrusuh) Pavlicek.  She was raised and received her education in the Muleshoe area, graduating high school from Paint Rock, TX.  Lyndell was united in marriage to Jack H. Monroe and they came to Hominy in 1956.  After his death in 1971, she continued living in Hominy, later making her home in Skiatook and eventually Tulsa.  The past four years she resided at the Gardens in Sapulpa. 

     Lyndell was an avid reader, was a talented seamstress, often doing sewing for others and in her early years enjoyed fishing.  Those who survive and hold many cherished memories is her daughter – Carol Davis and husband, Logan of Tulsa; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.  Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son Mike Monroe, a sister Eddie Mae Huebner and a grandson Michael Joseph Davis.

     Graveside services for Lyndell will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 8, 2022 at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Dusty Giles officiating.  She is being laid to rest next to her husband Jack.  Services have been entrusted to the Powell Funeral Home of Hominy.
