Marcella Barber

Marcella Lee Barber was born on May 10, 1966 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Thurman Gene Barber and Vera Lee Abington Barber. She passed from this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in St. Alexius Hospital, St. Louis Missouri, having reached the age of 47 years, 5 months, and 19 days. She attended Pawnee Public Schools with the Class of 1984, and continued her education at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa; Wichita State University where she obtained her Bachelors in Social Work in 1993; and in 2007 received her Master’s Degree at Webster University in St. Louis Missouri. She worked as an Adult Protection Community Worker for the State of Missouri at the time of her death. Marcella is survived by: Mother:Vera Lee Barber, Pawnee, Oklahoma Sisters: Gina Barber, Pawnee, Ok; Lucina Jones, Pawnee, OK; Brother: Scott Barber & his wife, Karen, Birmingham, Alabama; Nephews: Derek Barber & his wife, Nancy, Pawnee, OK; Grant Jones & his wife, Taylor, Edmond, OK; Gerard Jones & his wife, Yukari, Houston, Texas; Gerald Jones, Tahlequah, OK; Great Nieces & Nephews: Heaven, Derek Jr., Malik, Xavier, Trulee, Pierce & Ronda. Plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Marcella was preceded in death by her father, Thurman Barber. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, Pawnee. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, OK
