Marie Evelyn Moore Obituary Memorial services for Marie Evelyn Moore, 91, of Hominy, Oklahoma were held Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hominy, Oklahoma with Pastor Mark Formby officiating. Pianist Melvina Prather and vocalists were Frank Hudson, Charley Crawford and John Crawford. A private family graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the A.J. Powell Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma under the direction of Powell Funeral Home. Marie passed away on December 15, 2011 at the Cleveland Area Hospital in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Marie was born February 25, 1920 in Hominy, Oklahoma to Chester and Pearl (Moore) Hendrix. Marie was a graduate of Hominy High School. She married Clabe Jesse Moore on July 8, 1942; he preceded her in death on March 5, 1999. Marie worked for the Hominy Public Library, volunteered for and wrote articles for the Hominy Newspaper on the history of Hominy. She owned and operated the Hominy Coffee Shop and the OAY Café at the sale barn. Marie was a member of the Heritage Foundation and the Literacy Foundation where she volunteered and taught many people of Osage County to read. She was also a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Hominy, Oklahoma. She is survived by three sons: J.C. Moore and wife Barbara of Terlton, Oklahoma, David Moore and wife Joyce of Catoosa, Oklahoma, James Moore and wife Lori of Raleigh, North Carolina; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a sister Maurita Powell.
