Mercedes Kyrk

Mercedes Kyrk, 81, passed on to her heavenly home on Friday, September 12, 2014 in Edmond, Oklahoma, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Dahlia and Greg Vance. She was born on October 17, 1932 in Posadas Missiones, Argentina. She married Willard Kyrk in 1960 after meeting in Buenos Aires. She lived and traveled in various countries throughout Central and South America, but called Oklahoma home for the last fifty years. She lived in Stillwater and Oklahoma City before moving to Edmond. Blindly generous to everyone and anyone, Mercedes chose to live in beauty, and regarded family as her richest treasure. Mercedes is survived by her son, Glenn Kyrk of Saginaw, Texas, and her two daughters and sons-in law, Diana and Tim Britell of Falls Church, Virginia, and Dahlia and Greg Vance. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, David, Devin, Trent, Liana, Cody, Chris, Nicole and Austin, and last but not least, two great-grandchildren, Charles and Evie. Graveside services were held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma with Rev. Kenneth J. Harder officiating, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family politely ask donations be sent to the Cathoilic Church in your local community.
