Nina Belle Davis, 95 years, former resident of Osage County, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Nina was born October 11, 1921 in Claremore, Oklahoma to W.P. and Ida Alice (Beathe) Buxton. She was a member of a large family of eight children, six brothers, and one sister. She attended Fairfax, Oklahoma schools and graduated in 1940. In 1942 she married James C. Davis of Ralston, Oklahoma and to this union three children were born - Janice Kay, Connie Jeanne and Jimmy. Nina joined the First Baptist Church in 1949 and served there in many capacities. She brought her husband to know and love the Lord as well as all of their children. She started a ministry and sent many cards to the sick, the bereaved, and many happy occasions as well. She worked as a secretary for 30 years for her husbands oil well service and for Osage County before retiring in 1999. She loved bowling, roller skating, riding her bike, fishing, and was an amazing cook. She stayed busy with many hobbies and was well known for the beautiful porcelain dolls and quilts she made. Her daughter Connie Boyd moved her to Fort Collins, Colorado on Thanksgiving Day in 2010 where she lived until her death. Nina is survived by: her daughter, Connie Jeanne Boyd of Fort Collins, Colorado, and has five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. Nina is preceded by: her parents; her husband, James C. Davis Sr. who passed away on August 27, 1992; two children: her daughter, Janice K. Huerta who passed away on January 27, 2007 and her son, James C. Davis Jr., who was lost at sea while serving in the US Coast Guard on November 13, 1973; six brothers and one sister. Her funeral service was held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Hominy, with internment at AJ Powell Memorial Cemetery, with Mark Formby officiating.
