Orba Ray Owens Obituary Orba Ray "PeWee" Owens, went to be with his Lord Friday, January 10, 2014 at the age of 82 at St. John's Medical Center, Tulsa. PeWee was born July 4, 1931 in Magazine, Arkansas to Melvin "Pete" and Leona (Robins) Owens. Orba married Patty Henley October 12, 1974 in Sayre, Oklahoma. Throughout his working years he was a heavy machine operator and a long distance truck driver. Patty trucked with him for 7 years before his retirement from Continental Express. He was a Baptist. PeWee was a man of many talents. He could play any musical instrument that he ever touched and loved to sing his country and gospel music. He was an excellent carpenter. He also loved to hunt, fish and camp. PeWee is survived by his loving wife Patty of the home. 2 daughters: Pam Vanzant of Texas, and Mary Lou Pillars and husband Clifford of Texas. 1 son: Tom Romans and wife Alana of Oklahoma. 4 grandchildren: Wynema Vanzant, Sherman Cooper, Brandy Smith of Texas and Tami Rolands of Oklahoma. 4 great grandchildren: Cierra, Brilynn, Colby & Blake. 1 Sister: Rachel Wineberger and husband Willis. Several nieces, nephews; including a special niece Beverly Crowley. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Oscar Owens and a sister-in-law Ina Mae Owens, a son-in-law Elmer Vanzant. Graveside services will be Monday, January 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the A.J. Powell Cemetery Pavilion with Pastor Seth Pester. Taped music selections were "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art", and "Ill Fly Away". Powell Funeral Home of Hominy, Oklahoma made the arrangement. www.powellfuneralservice.com
