Patricia Mae Hunter

Patricia Mae Hunter, 93 of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away July 9, 2021 at home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held 10:00 am, prior to services.

Mrs. Hunter was born August 2, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Julius Carl Miller and Mildred Elizabeth Miller nee Hamlin.  She met and married E.M. “Eck” Hunter in Lawton, Oklahoma in 1947.  She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Education, graduating with Honors from New Mexico A&M College and her attained Master’s Degree.  She and Eck taught in schools in the Oklahoma School System and settled in Hominy in 1971 where she taught elementary school until her retirement.  She loved her family, crossword puzzles, playing dominos, and reading.  She was a member of the Alpha Delphian Society and the Philanthropic Educational Organization Sisterhood.

She was preceded in death by husband, E.M. Hunter; brother, Carl Miller; twin sister Mildred Crane; daughter Beryl Collins and son-in-law Ronnie Collins.

Survivors include daughter, Carol Blaylock of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Duane and DiAnn Hunter of Joplin; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
