Pearl Lorene Provine Nelson Knaak was born on November 27, 1918 in Bridgeport Illinois to Charles Craig Provine and Mary Edith Isabell Provine. She passed from this life on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Pawnee Oklahoma having reached the age of 95 years, 6 months, and 2 days. She married Clifton “Click” Nelson on January 18, 1938 in Pawnee and on July 24, 1964 she married James V. Knaak in Wichita Kansas. She lived and went to school in Quay, Webb City, Yale, and Pawnee. She was Dr. Haddox’s Surgical Nurse, was a housewife, and spent two years in Germany. She moved to San Jose California in 1943, moved back to Pawnee in 1944, moved to Wichita Kansas in 1951, and for the last twenty-two years she has lived in Pawnee. She was a member of the Eastern Star, belonged to the Kansas 1918 Club, and served as President for seven years. She had reunions all over the USA with other clubs. Lorene is survived by her Daughter, Ginger Smith, and her husband, Jack, Pawnee; Son-in-law, John McFarland, Glencoe; Sister, Ruby Maloney, Dewey; Grandchildren, Patty, Donnie Jr., Charles, Jackie, Mike, Kim, Teresa, John, James; 24 Great grandchildren; and 20 Great-Great Grandchildren. Plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Lorene was preceded in death by both her husbands; mother and father; Brothers, Kenneth, Carl, Bob, Mike, Jr.; Sisters, Bertha, Melissa, Melba, Franses, Verle, and Opal; great-great grandson and great-great granddaughter; Daughter, Jeannie McFarland; and her son, Leslie Leon Nelson. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Eshelman Memorial Chapel, Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, with Rev. John Coker officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
