Rance Edward Pappan

Rance Edward Pappan was born May 3, 1984, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to John and Paula Pappan. Rance grew up in the country west of Hominy, Oklahoma, where he spent time learning to hunt and fish. Rance was the youngest of a sibling group of four. He has three older sisters. He was the youngest and maybe a little spoiled according to his sister, who got shot by Rance with a BB Gun and never got grounded for it.

He spent his school years at Hominy Public Schools and graduated as Valedictorian in 2002, he was a member of the National Honor Society. Rance was very involved in music. He played the trombone for the Hominy High School band and the OSU marching band. Rance received his Master’s Degree in Financing from OSU.

After college Rance went to work in the banking industry. He worked for a bank in Owasso and in Tulsa before he ended up at Stride Bank where he became the youngest member on the board of directors. Rance was very active in church life at the Wynona Assembly of God. Rance loved to hunt, fish, and golf. He went to many of the football games at OSU.

Rance got married to Autumn Stein in July 2007 in Wellston, Oklahoma. Out of this union came two wonderful children, Brock Edward, and Nora Elizabeth. They were Rance’s life, he loved them very much.

Rance was very close to his family. They spent lots of time together. Every Labor Day they would meet at the farm and plant wheat. He went to Churchill Downs to watch the horses run a few years ago. When he wasn’t enjoying hunting or fishing, he loved to watch shows about hunting and fishing. He also liked watching cooking shows and game shows.

Music was one of Rance’s passions. He loved being in the band and playing at church. He also enjoyed listening to all kinds of music.

Rance passed from this life on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at St John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
