Raymond Joseph Freeman

          Raymond “Joe” Joseph Freeman, 63 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Oklahoma Heart Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

          Raymond was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 18, 1956 to Raymond Joseph Hill and Marcell (West) Freeman.

          Raymond was married to his love, Marguerite Ann; they were married for a loving 42 years. Joe was the former Hominy District Drumkeeper. He worked for the Osage Nation as the Housing Director. Raymond took pride in being a member of the Bear Clan. Joe’s Osage name was Zhi-ka Ki-Hika also known as “Little Chief”. He will be missed by many.

          Raymond is survived by: wife, Marguerite Ann Freeman; daughters, Arlandra Gray, Christina Mashunkashey, and Whitney Freeman; step-father, Jesse Freeman; sisters, Kim Freeman, Belle Wilson, Regina Hill, and Susie Fletcher; grandchildren, Joseph, Makenzie, Mia and Michaela.

          Raymond is preceded in death by: parents, Raymond Joseph Hill and Marcell (West) Freeman; daughter, Rachel Freeman; sister, Rosa Pledger.

          A rosary will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Freeman Residence. Indian service will be held at 8:00am, Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Freeman Family residence. Service will be held for Raymond at 10:30am, Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Desmond Ibeneme officiating. Pallbearers: Bruce Cass, John Williams Jr., Nick Williams, Nate West, Timmy Goodfox, Mitchell Freeman, Wyatt Little, Stephan Burris, Chris Standingbear. Honorary Pallbearers: John Maker and Larry Maker. Burial will follow services at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma.
