Rita Lewis Chapman

Rita Sue Chapman was born on October 4, 1942 in Pawnee Oklahoma to Wilford Lewis and Gertie RidingIn Lewis. She passed from this life on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in Oklahoma City having reached the age of 71 years and 8 months. She attended Pawnee Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1960. She continued her education at the Barnes Business School in Denver Colorado, and had attended the United Methodist Church in Glencoe. She enjoyed traveling, listening to the 50’s music and was an avid fan of the OKC Thunder. Rita is survived by her husband Lloyd “Blackie” Chapman of Glencoe; her sister, Annavieve Joe and her husband, Tom of Midwest City; her nieces, Angela Webb and her husband, David of Oklahoma City, Barbara Colbert and her husband, Gary of Norman, Roberta Lewis of Tulsa; and Kathy Hunter of Anadarko; her grandsons, Jeremy Webb and his wife, Chante of Oklahoma City, Shane Webb of Oklahoma City, and David Colbert of Norman; her granddaughter, Kellie Poolaw of Pawnee; and her great granddaughter, Leitner Webb of Oklahoma City, plus numerous relatives and friends. Rita was preceded by her parents, Wilford and Gertie Lewis; and two brothers, Wilford Lewis Jr. and Robert Lewis. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Pawnee Nation Roam Chief Event Center, Pawnee, with Rev. Lynn Eaves officiating. Interment will be at the South Indian Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
