Robert "Bobby" Davis III passed from this life on April 22, 2025. Bobby was born in Hominy, OK to Martha Ruth Oberly Davis and Robert Davis Jr. He was of Osage and Pawnee descent, a member of the Native American Church.
Bobby was raised in Pawnee and Hominy. He graduated from Hominy High School in 1970. He went onto Haskell Indian Junior College. He spent most of his life working as a Welders Helper, he was a member of the Pipeliners Union 798. On December 11, 1975, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, he married the love of his life Brenda Diane Owens, to this union two children were born Marques Neal Davis and Brittany Nicole Davis.
Bobby was known for being a hard worker. Upon retiring from the Pipeline, Bobby pursued careers with the Department of Corrections and Osage Casinos where he was highly respected and gained many friendships.
Bobby played life by heart and was loved by all. He was known for being a gentle giant with a kind soul. He loved watching and playing all sports. He cherished time spent with family at cookouts and holiday gatherings. Nothing brought him more joy than watching those he loved to excel at anything they did. He was a staunch supporter of anyone and everyone, he did not have to be your blood, but he supported you and yours regardless. You could always find him cheering on someone any time, rain or shine, day or night. Bobby had a playful soul and will be remembered as having made just a simple trip to Walmart, fun. He was the kind of man who made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. He lived his life with integrity, humility and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He was the kind of man who made everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. A quiet force of good in the world, he gave without asking, stood strong without needing recognition and loved without condition.
Bobby is survived by his wife Brenda of the home, his daughter Brittany Davis of Skiatook; granddaughter Brooklyn Nicole Davis; grandsons Marques Cole Burris, Abram Grant Burris, and Robert Owen (ROK) Keene; also his best friend Boomer; father-in-law Red Owens; siblings, Jewell (Homer) Purcell; Harold (Rhonda) Davis; Fi (Karen) Davis; William Davis; Delores Davis; brother-in-law Daniel (Cristy) Owens; close family friend Paula Potts; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his son Marques Davis; his parents Bob and Martha Davis; brothers Kirk Anthony Davis and Ronald Eugene Davis; brother-in-law Rock Owens; mother-in-law Patsy Owens; sister-in-law Jeanne Owens; nephew Selby Dustin Ford and great niece Maize Ann Helton.
Native American services, Friday, April 25, 2025, at 8am, Hominy Indian Village Chapel with John Maker officiating. Church services at the First Baptist Church in Hominy at 10am, Rev Mark Formby officiating. Interment will follow at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Powell Funeral Home.
