Ethel Ruth Cox Willard was born on October 19, 1943 to Donald Cox and Evelyn Cox. She passed from this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater Oklahoma having reached the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 22 days. She lived in Jennings, moved to Yale, and then moved to Pawnee to work at Pawnee Municipal Hospital to work as a Candy Stripper. She lived over Cheatham Stores and would go eat hotdogs and chips for twenty-five cents. At the time she didn’t drive, didn’t wear shoes unless she had to, and didn’t talk much. She met Jerry Dean Willard while walking with friends to the Armory to go roller skating, and on September 1, 1963 they were married by Rev. Hitt. After they married, she got her driver’s license, a bunch of shoes, and didn’t stop talking. She loved Elvis Presley, cooking, crafts, decorating for Christmas, and daycare. She was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and OKC Thunder, and enjoyed watching QVC, Bones, and Castle. Ruth is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Michele Willard Low and her husband, Darrell; sons, Jerry Dean Willard Jr. and Kris Willard; grandchildren, Valerie Low, Jerry Dean Willard III, Michael Willard, Jenifer Low, Brent McKinney, Feradee Wheatley, and Kayla, Heather, and Gage Clasby; and two brothers, Dean Cox and his wife, Kay, and Ron Cox and his wife, Mary Jane. Plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Evelyn Cox. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2014 at the First Christian Church, Pawnee, Oklahoma with Rev. Tom Scott officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma
