Sherri L. Dean-Heck, 55 years, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
Sherri was born on October 03, 1962 to James and Carol (Peters) Dean in Hominy, Oklahoma. She also lived in Sand Springs, Oklahoma and later, in 2007, moved to Joplin. She worked as a manager at the Tulsa Federal Credit Union for 13 years, but her real job was being a full time mother. Sherri was an elegant, organized mother, grandmother and wife and being those things were the most important in her life. Her family was everything, and she loved family gatherings. She nurtured and advised her boys with her honesty and she absolutely wanted them to be the best person they could be. Sherri enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden and fishing. She loved to be able to help people.
Sherri is survived by: her husband, Jeff Heck of Joplin, MO; 4 sons: Christopher Shaun Darnold of Skiatook, OK, Shane Eric Darnold of Tulsa, OK, Jerrod Lee Darnold and his wife, Amanda, of Joplin, MO and Dylan James Dean-Heck of Joplin, MO; 2 grandchildren: Madison Anne Darnold and Conner Lee Darnold; her mother, Carol Dean of Cleveland, OK; 4 brothers: David Dean, Michael Dean, Don Dean and Patrick Dean; 3 sisters: Ginger Bethea, Karen West and Dana Dean; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Sherri is preceded in death by: her father, James Dean, her grandad, Vilious Peters and grandmother, Ida Peters.
The funeral service was 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Calvary Worship Center in Hominy with the Pastor Kenny Christian officiating. Pallbearers were: Michael Dean, Don Dean, Patrick Dean, Bill Bethea, Kyle Dean, and Skylar Dean. Honorary pallbearer was: David Dean. Burial followed at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy.
