Shirley Florene Horton

Shirley Florene (May) Horton, resident of Hominy, died Friday, January 13, 2017 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. She was 59 years of age. Shirley was born February 24, 1957 at Hominy to Charles Leroy and Shirley (Beckham) Reed. She attended Hominy schools and was a lifelong Hominy resident who owned and operated Dimples & Smiles Daycare for many years. In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed flower gardening and crocheting. She was married to Randy N. May on October 22, 1975, in Hominy. He passed away on December 8, 1998.On March 3, 2000, she and Marty Z. Horton were united in marriage in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Those who survive and hold many cherished memories include her husband - Marty of the home; children; Braden May of Hominy, Rachel Carter and husband Michael of Hominy, Jeremy Horton and wife Bethanie of Prue, Jerrod Horton and wife Rhonda of Owasso, Jacob Horton and wife Bailee of Skeedee and Jenny Martin and husband Chris of Catoosa. Also surviving are siblings - Pamela Degney and husband Rick of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Ronald Reed and wife Rosemary and Donald Reed and wife Leslie, all of Hominy; step sisters Joyce and Ginger and step-brothers Joe Bunch and Randy Elledge. Shirley also has grandchildren, Logan May, Gunnar Carter and Collins Carter, Jace Horton, Kash Horton, Taitem Horton, Jax Horton and Tinlee Horton.

At Shirley's request, cremation will take place. There was a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at her home. Shirley will be laid to rest at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy, OK.
