Summer Jalyn Novotny

Summer Jalyn Goad Novotny was born on May 3, 1981 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Sam Goad and Janice Funkhouser Goad. She passed from this life on Thursday, September 6, 2012 in Pawnee County, Oklahoma having reached the age of 31 years, 4 months, and 3 days. She attended Pawnee Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 2000. She attended college at Oklahoma Baptist University, Tulsa University, Oklahoma Christian University, and was certified at MaKana Esthetics Wellness Academy in Hawaii. She was licensed with the Oklahoma Bail Bonds Association. On September 20, 2008 she married John Novotny. Words cannot describe the beauty of Summer’s heart. She was God’s gift to us. To those who had eyes to see, they saw a heart that deeply cared for others in their storms of life. She loved, whether it was her dogs, friends, or family. Her real desire was to live and reach others for Jesus Christ. Whom she knew loved them, died for them, and rose from the dead for them. All those who put their trust in Him will see her again. Summer is survived by: Husband:John Novotny, Jr., Pawnee Parents:Sam and Janice Goad, Pawnee 2 Sisters:Rae Dawn Goad, Pawnee Janna Goad, Pawnee Father-in-law & Mother-in-law:Johnnie Novotny Sr. & Angelia Novotny, Pawnee Brother-in-law:Trent Novotny & his wife, Mandi, Pawnee Sister-in-law:Michelle Turner & her husband, Jeremy, Pawnee Nieces & Nephews:Taren Hetherington Goad, Sallisaw Tyler Wallace, Edmond Regan Wallace, Norman Garrison Shears, Ponca City Samantha Mitchell, Pawnee Jaelyn Northcutt, Pawnee J. Brent Goad, Pawnee Kindi & Kolbe Novotny, Pawnee Teagan Turner, Pawnee Grandmothers:Mrs. RB Funkhouser, Pawnee, OK Hazel Guthrie, Fairfax, OK Plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Summer was preceded in death by her brother, Brent Goad; cousins, Jason Dilbeck, Shannon Gardner Renfro; Aunt, Yvonne Kelly; Uncles, Carl Funkhouser, Ed Goad; and Grandfathers, George Goad and RB Funkhouser. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Pawnee, Oklahoma, with Pastor Russ Hughes officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
