Thomas Dewey Cox, age 82, of Hominy, passed from this life on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Journey Home in Bartlesville. Dewey was born August 11, 1941, at Hominy, the son of Ernest and Irene (Parish) Cox. Dewey grew up in the Enterprise area, attending Enterprise school until the 8th grade. He graduated from Hominy High School with the class of 1960. Dewey continued his education by attending Okmulgee Tech where he received his associates degree in diesel mechanics. On October 10, 1964, Dewey was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Pitts at Prue, OK. Following their marriage, Barbara and Dewey moved to the ranch northwest of Hominy. In 1988, they built their current home west of Hominy, where Dewey continued to live. Dewey and his younger brother Bob were partners on the ranch. In 1988 he formed C&C Oil Company, a family business in operation today.

Dewey enjoyed classic cars and hot rods, and never passed up a chance to go to the Branson Car Auction, even bidding and purchasing his 1955 Chevy. Family events were always important to him, whether it was a family Christmas, celebrating a birthday or just getting together. Going to Branson with family was always at the top of his list.
