Thomas Wayne Burba

Thomas Wayne Burba was born on September 8, 1931 in Walters, Oklahoma to Thomas A. Burba and Julia Brumley Burba. He passed from this life on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma having reached the age of 82 years and 1 month. He married Verna Lue Christy, and they have been married for 61 years. After working 34 years he retired as Production Superintendent from Kerr McGee Corporation where he worked in Oklahoma and Louisiana. He served in the United States Army from January 27, 1953 until January 26, 1955 and had obtained the rank of Sergeant E-5. Thomas leaves behind, his wife, Verna, three daughters, Tomma and her husband, Bob; LaDonna and her husband, Tom; Debbie; sister, Sue Ella and her husband, Dan; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, T. J.; and two sisters, Buelah “Toots” and Vera. Services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, October 11, 2013 at Poteet Funeral Chapel, Pawnee, Oklahoma with Rev. George Weston officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Ralston, Oklahoma.
